September Meeting and More
Howdy THAGS Members!

UPCOMING MEETING
September is around the corner which means it will be time to start up our monthly meetings. Mark your calendars and plan to attend our first meeting for 2017-2018 of 11 September 2017 with Nick Cimino. He'll be lecturing on the Genealogy Proof Stanard. To learn more about Nick, visit our meetings page at http://www.humblegen.org/meetings
MEMBERSHIP FEES DUE With the new year approaching, please plan to submit your annual membership dues. Fees are due at the Sept 11th meeting and are $17 for individual $20 for a couple. Fill out your membership form and mail with your check or bring the form to the meeting! An online copy of the form is available here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwJQkS6VDIrgTnRaaHRwRmZNV0E/view?usp=drive_web
SIGN UP, SIGN UP As mentioned at the July 10th Summer Social, we are sponsoring an eConference on September 23rd featuring four fabulous presenters discussing the following topics:
Finding Your Elusive Female Ancestors
Researching in the Federal Land Records
Separating Same Name Ancestors
Using FamilySearch More Effectively
This conference costs $15, and 25% of each registration immediately comes to THAGS for our society. The more people that register, the more money we have to build and sustain our library and support preservation efforts in the community. Register today and then tell everyone you know about the conference. You will be surprised who will be interested in such an event. As a reminder, if you can not attend the 8:30 am to 4:00 on 23 September in part or its entirety, you'll be able to access a replay of the seminars for 30-days. This also means you can replay a session you enjoyed!!!
Thank you Ronnie Janeka for being the first to register. Who will be next? Register at http://www.humblegen.org/conference
NEWSLETTER SUBMISSIONS DUE Our newsletter is only as good as our collective contributions. Please submit a genealogy query, success, or tips to Vee Price at vspricegen@gmail.com by September 25th for inclusion in our upcoming newsletter. The sooner she has your submission, the sooner she can publish the bi-annual publication! That's all for now. Stay safe and dry, and we'll see you soon.
