Activity: Web Indexing on Family Search. Bring a laptop if you have one.

We'll use the family history center and personal computers to learn how to help familysearch.org make indexes to free record collections. Business meeting first--followed by activity--optional get together at Denny's afterwards.

Curious to know how our surveys came out?

Christmas Social . . . top score . . .pot lock at the Humble Sr. Center. So we will plan this direction for next year's Christmas social. Be thinking of historic family recipes you might want to share with the group.

Research Trip . . top score . . . Salt Lake City. The trip is financed by each member going and is planned for Summer 2019. We are looking for a member who is willing to act as group leader for this particular trip. (Training availalbe). If you are interested, please let a board member know.

2018/2019 Monthly Meetings . . .a new survey coming your way. . . give us your feedback on classes you are interested in for the coming year.

Texas Genealogical Society Writing Competitions:

Each year the Texas Genealogical Society sponsors writing competitions for its individual and society members. We would love to see some of our members who are TGS Members and our society participate in this competition. The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2018. There is a cash prize for winners. Some of the categories that might interest you are "Books by Non Professionals" or sponsor a child or grandchild in the "Student Projects"

For more details and encouragement, talk to Devon Lee. We would like to know about any projects being submitted by our Summer Social.
