October Monthly THAGS Meeting..tomorrow
Be sure to join us for our monthly THAGS meeting. It may seem a little sooner than expected so we wanted to give you a special heads up.

Presentation: History and Genealogy - Where They Overlap and Where They Don't
Speaker; Tracy Daniel is a graduate of Texas Southern University, where she earned her M.A. in history. Her primary field of research is in Reconstruction-era Black relations, with a focus on post-Reconstruction era violence in Texas. Considering herself a citizen of the world, Daniel enjoys expanding her worldview through traveling. She also has an interest in genealogy and shared her experiences during her HIST 1301 class at Lone Star College - Atascocita.
We are still working on a few adjustments for our new location. This month we will set up chairs only (no tables) so that all can sit closer to the speaker and hear better. We are working on obtaining a sound system, but do not have one yet. Also, you may want to bring a sweater or jacket as we adjust the temperature. We are open to your feedback on how to meet your needs.

MORE SOCIETY HAPPENINGS AND HELP NEEDED...
1) THAGS Library: We are continuing our conversation with all members concerning the THAGS library currently housed at Lone Star College--North Harris Campus. You should all have received via email a spread sheet showing the contents of our collection. Thank you for your questionnaire answers. The vast majority of our members felt they would use the library more if it were located closer to the membership. We are looking for your help!! Can anyone reach out to their contacts and help us find a location that would suit the society's needs? We are looking to you all for possible solutions.
2) Newsletter: We still need about 5 more pages of articles in order to publish our next newsletter. Give it a try. Tell us a little about you and your family. Send submissions to Devon Lee, humbleareagen@gmail.com
