News from other Societies and Organizations:
Drawing on the success of the initial phase of DNA Quest, I am pleased to share that MyHeritage has decided to donate 5,000 additional DNA kits, for free, to eligible participants around the world. Applications for DNA Quest will open on Friday, March 1 and can be submitted through the project website (www.dnaquest.org).
The March 7th meeting of the Galveston Co. Genealogical Society will feature
Author, Kimber Fountain, "The Galveston Red Light District, a History of the
Rosenberg Library, 2310 Sealy St., Galveston, 6:30pm, free and open to the
public. Refreshments are served.
The International German Genealogical Partnership Conference will be held
June 15-17th, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Sacramento, CA. Please see
for more information. As of Monday a week ago, 470 had registered to attend.
